Set a date with the Bombay Fashion Gala, a Parisian catwalk fashion show cum high-tea by Maya Fashion Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the Maya Group.
A brainchild of fashion director of the Maya Group, Kaysha Ubrani, thus fashion show will be like none other.
"The event is an attempt at giving the still nascent Indian fashion design industry a serious structure and to attract both Indian and non-Indian buyers of Indian designer wear.
"We're showcasing very wearable Indian wear,'' she said.
Indian fashion apparel by well-known designers from Bombay and Delhi have been specially made for this show.
Maya's in-house fashion designers have also created some exquisite pieces for the evening.
While the pieces on display will be expensive, the prices of other designs will be affordable.
"We are trying a totally new concept here. We've knocked down all the prices, so it's like high fashion at very low prices,'' added Kaysha.
The fashion show will be divided into four main segments: Saree Galore (a showcase of beautiful embroidered sarees), East meets West (a modern easy-to-wear Indian apparel), Glitz and Glamour section(formal and elegant outfits) and Bride and Prejudice( gorgeous bridal and trousseau collection).
The Bombay Fashion Gala is organised in conjunction with Deepavali.
Besides Indian fashion apparel, stoles and scarves of different textures and designs will also be on sale.
Exclusive kurtis, short Indian tops with embroidery commonly worn with jeans or pants will also be available.
The Bombay Fashion Gala is on tomorrow from 2.30pm-6pm at Hotel Istana and tickets are going at RM35.
